Víctor Sojo, PhD

I am an evolutionary biologist working on the role of membranes in the major transitions in evolution and the shape of the Tree of Life, including the origin of Eukaryotes, the divergence of Archaea and Bacteria, the emergence of cells, and the Origin of Life itself. You can read more about this in my research and publications pages.

I am presently a Research Scholar at the Institute for Comparative Genomics of the American Museum of Natural History, in New York. Before completing my PhD in evolutionary biology, I pursued degrees in chemistry, computer science, and mathematical biology. I provide a brief CV in the bio page.

I am also committed to making science accessible – not merely available – to everyone, everywhere. You can read more about those efforts in the equity page.
